A Collection of Jewish Blog Posts – November 11, 2012

It’s always good to get together with my fellow Jewish bloggers. There are so many ways we can help eachother out, whatever our blogs may be.

That’s why I’m happy to be hosting Haveil Haveilim – A Carnival of Blogs from Israel and the Jewish World. I bring to you this selection of posts in the hopes that it will help you discover some new blogs out there that you may never have encountered before.

Unfortunately we have seen more rocket attacks in Israel in recent weeks, so this has inspired many blog posts on that theme, including:

Miriam Goodman presents Miriam’s Words: Israelis Under Attack! Weapons of Choice: Missiles, Firebombs, Boulders and More…. posted at Miriam’s Words.

Batya presents Shiloh Musings: A Bible Story and The Iron Dome posted at Shiloh Musings.

Batya also wrote me-ander: Lost Potential posted at me-ander, a post which spoke to my heart, as an amateur gardener and philosopher.

In this post, KI, Schvach Yid talks about the anniversary of Kristallnacht, which fell on Friday.

The use of pesticides in Israeli produce, especially “bug-free” greens has been the subject of media attention this week. In a timely post, Ester presents Israeli Produce (Important Pesticide Residue Info) posted at Frugal and Kosher.

Meanwhile, Jim Coy gets into some heavy pondering in his post, Poultry Preparedness Principles posted at The Magic Realist.

Speaking of getting together with fellow bloggers, last Friday I joined a special bloggers scavenger hunt, organized by Jerusalem Scavenger Hunts. There I met Sharon, who blogs at the Real Jerusalem Streets, who created this beautiful photo essay about our hunting adventures: Nachlaot Finding Past and Future.

That’s it for this week’s blog carnival – but I almost forgot to include a post of my own! Check out: The Top 10 Jewish News Sites in the World!

BTW: The Haveil Havalim blog carnival was founded by Soccer Dad and every week a different blogger takes a turn to host a weekly collection of blog posts.
The name “Haveil Havalim” means “Vanity of the Vanities” and is taken from the book Ecclesiates in the Tanach (the Jewish Bible). If you blog about Israel or Jewish-related subjects, please feel free to join the Haveil Havalim Facebook group or go and have a look at the Haveil Havalim website.
